Newport Pagnell Church

Newport Pagnell Church is a small original painting created on location on a warm summer’s day.

The painting captures a view across the River Ouse towards the centre of Newport Pagnell, with the church and surrounding historic buildings forming a familiar part of the town’s skyline.

Painting outdoors allowed me to respond directly to the summer light, the river and the character of the historic architecture. I was drawn to this peaceful view across the water and the way the buildings sit within the landscape, capturing a recognisable corner of this Buckinghamshire market town.
