Stony Stratford’s unique charm and history is continually a source of inspiration for my work. The warm red bricks of the High Street are a recurring feature of my paintings.
I grew up in the town and returned after some years in London to raise my family. I caught the painting bug in my early twenties and have been painting ever since. I later completed a textiles degree at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design which helped to hone my love of colour.
I often begin a painting by sketching from life in the town and later developing it in my studio. Flowers are another source of inspiration for me, I have been producing a series of still life paintings for the last couple of years.
Capturing moments in Stony Stratford throughout the year for my new calendar was a very fun experience, which I hope you enjoy.
